We are an active social club and have many events year long, including contests, get-togethers, and an annual awards banquet.

Our members are passionate about promoting, encouraging, supporting and educating the members and community in sport fishing.

Our monthly meetings are currently virtual, but that doesn't mean they lack in substance or fun. Our mission is to promote and further steelhead trout fishing through conservation, education, fellowship, and participation.

Our club's objective is to encourage the conservation of the steelhead trout fish and their habitats and the wise use of resources.

Our Mission

The mission of the Steelhead Trout Club of Washington is to promote, encourage, support, and educate the members and the community in the sport of fishing for Steelhead Trout. The Club focuses on the conservation of steelhead and their habitats, the appropriate use of artificial production to support catch and harvest, and the promotion of catch-and-release fisheries for steelhead to promote as much widespread use of the steelhead resource as can be supported by the fish.

We give our pledge as an American, to support the CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES; to save and faithfully defend from waste the natural resources of our country, its air, soil and minerals, its forests, waters and wildlife, to guarantee these things for our future generations.

Club History

The Steelhead Trout Club of Washington, the oldest and continuously active sportsmen’s club in the state was formally organized on Friday, January 20th, 1928 at the Wilsonian Hotel in the University District.

However, the catalyst for forming the Club happened on Jan 1st, 1928 on the banks of the Green River; the opening day of the winter steelhead season.....
